Mikayla’s Fight for the Cure

Viki and I first met a couple years ago while we were both employed at the same place. I have had the pleasure of photographing both Mikayla and Dylan, (to check out those blog posts just click on their names!) When I found out that Mikayla was diagnosed with leukaemia, I offered Viki and her family a photo session. We tried numerous times to arrange the shoot, but unfortunately Mikayla always got too sick. So I was thrilled when we choose a date and it worked! Mikayla was filled with smiles and ready to have some fun! Viki & David, you guys are amazing parents and to see your strength through this is unreal! Dylan – you are a great big brother! You take such good care of Mikayla! There is a fundraiser tonight for Mikayla in Niverville…tickets are all sold out, but if you would still like to donate to the case, please let me know and I will hook you up with the right people! To everyone who is coming to the fundraiser tonight – I am looking forward to seeing you there are we band together to help fight this battle for this little girl!

Where to start on this session….=) This family was ready for a good time! The girls were ready to “work it” and had tons of different poses and facial expressions for the camera! There were moments that I just couldn’t capture because I was laughing too hard! Bev, Tim, Jasmine & Cora…thank you! You guys were fantastic!!!

This past weekend Brooklyn & Casey came over for a sleepover – here a glimpse of the good times! Can you tell they love hanging out in my studio?!!! love ya girls!!! Too bad we didn’t take any pics of our crazy dutch blitz games!!!! lol

Nephew Sleepover!!!

On Monday it was time for our 2nd annual nephew sleepover!!! What a night it was!!! The festivities started Monday afternoon when we had a limo pick up all the kids and take them to our house. Seriously – don’t know what to get the kid that has everything…pick them up in a limo – best gift ever!!! The activities this year included, NHL 2011, an amazing cardboard box fort, movies, cooking, dancing (yes boys do dance!!!!), and of course there was alot of farting…7 boys, what can you expect?!!! lol The sunset on Monday was amazing, and as I was grabbing a couple pictures of it, Garret stood beside me and pointed up to the sky and said “that’s where God lives, right there on that cloud! He lives in a castle!” So cute!!! On tuesday morning Darren and Kaiden made us all pancakes for breakfast! What a treat!!! love you lots!!!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!

I love the Christmas season for a long list of reasons…but one of them is that it’s always a time of reflection, and goal setting for the upcoming year. As I look back on 2011 – my heart is full, I am so grateful and thankful I don’t know where to begin! To YOU my loyal blog readers & clients – thank you for making this year like no other!!! I made the transition in 2011 to focus on photography full time, which was an amazing decision! Thank you for the support in that decision and for allowing me to “shoot” you in new ways and new styles!

As I look forward to 2012 I am so pumped about some new changes to my studio, some new equipment, some new courses I’ve signed up for, and of course some new hairstyles…lol…it’s gonna be a great one! I pray blessings on you in 2012! Cheers to you!

This was my last photo session for 2011, so I thought it was fitting that I blog about it on the last day of the year! What an amazing way to end the year! This family was filled, and I mean FILLED with laughter!!! I loved it as they were so candid and easy to photograph…except when I needed….ahem…Graeme to look at the camera!!!! lol I was so pumped to have been able to do this session as we only had a small window of time as the Madeline was only home from school for a short time. blessings Wieler family!!!

We desperately wanted snow for this session…so we waited till the last possible day to do this session, and I am so pumped on the way they turned out…even with the little amount of snow! I love how for each of the kids photos we incorporated something that truly displays who they are eg. skating, music, etc. Although my ear drums might still be ringing from Josh’s drum solo!!!!
